An easy way to spot a SPOOF email

When you get an email from someone you deal with, like eBay, Gov.uk, etc, you may be wondering how to check if it is a genuine email or a spoof trying to steal your data or infect your computer, well, there are a few simple checks you can do to verify if it is genuine or not.

In this screenshot, you can see that at first glance the email looks official:

If you have Outlook then please ensure that your emails do not automatically download images etc, this is an extra layer of protection in Outlook that stops java etc from downloading scripts that cause damage to your system.

You should see this in your title bar:

If you do not see this then your system is at risk, so go to settings and TRUST CENTRE, and set it like this:

Now, back to the email:

If you hover the mouse over the link in the email is NOT the correct website (URL) as you can see here:

If you look you can see the link is to MORESFRIDAY.COM, so this website/email account has been hacked and is being used as a gateway to send viruses and malware. In the TO: there should only ever be YOUR email address, some scammers just send it to hundreds of people, this will tell you it’s scam straight away.
