PROTECT YOURSELF FROM REMOTE‑ACCESS SCAMS
🚫 IF ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW ASKS YOU TO INSTALL A REMOTE PROGRAM…
It is 99% certain you are about to be scammed.
Remote‑access tools such as AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Zoho, QuickAssist, Supremo, LogMeIn are commonly abused by criminals to:
- Take control of your computer
- Steal your money
- Access your personal files
- Lock you out of your own accounts

❌ COMPANIES THAT WILL NEVER DO THIS
MICROSOFT
- Will NEVER call you unexpectedly
- Will NEVER tell you your PC is infected
- Will NEVER ask you to install remote software
YOUR BANK
- Will NEVER ask you to move money to a “safe account”
- Will NEVER ask for your PIN, passcode, or one‑time text code
- Will NEVER ask you to approve transactions over the phone
- Only scammers ask for these — no exceptions
BT, VIRGIN MEDIA, SKY, TALK TALK
- Very rarely need access to your computer
- Can diagnose network issues without remote access
- If they ask you to install anything — stop and verify
⚠️ COMMON SCAMMER TRICKS
Scammers often pretend to be:
- Microsoft
- Amazon
- Your bank’s fraud team
- HMRC
- BT / Virgin
- PayPal / eBay
- Delivery companies
- “Cyber security departments”
They may contact you via:
- Text messages

📞 ALWAYS VERIFY USING REAL CONTACT DETAILS
- Use the number on your bank card, official letters, or your actual bills
- Do NOT use numbers given to you in texts or emails
- If something feels off, hang up immediately and call the real number
🔐 REMEMBER
- If someone pressures you — it’s a scam
- If someone wants remote access — it’s a scam
- If someone wants codes or PINs — it’s a scam
- If someone wants you to move money — it’s a scam
